Frozen Whole Swimming Crab
Frozen Whole Swimming Crab
A whole blue swimming crab, landed from clean coastal waters and quickly frozen so the meat keeps its firm bite and gentle ocean sweetness. The speckled blue-green shell and the limbs arrive in one piece, ready for the pot.
Why You Will Love It
- Complete crab, shell and legs intact, for a proper seafood presentation
- Plump white meat with a firm, springy texture and a clean briny finish
- Quick-frozen close to the catch to hold natural moisture and flavour
- Minimal prep work - thaw, clean, cook
How to Cook
Steam over high heat until the shell turns bright orange-red, then serve with a ginger and vinegar dip. For something richer, cut it into sections, sear in hot oil, then braise with ginger, garlic, spring onion and chilli. Take it off the heat as soon as the meat is set - longer cooking is what turns crab dry and stringy.
Storage
Keep frozen at -18 C or below. Thaw in the refrigerator, never at room temperature, and do not refreeze once fully thawed. Keep the packaging sealed to prevent freezer burn.
